The weekend of September 10-13, 2009, Twestival Local will happen in 230+
cities around the world to bring together Twitter communities for an
evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for local charities.
Twestival is a globally held event brought together by the Twitter
community to raise money for charity. Our last event raised over
$250,000 for charity: water, enabling
them to drill 55 wells serving 17,000 people in Uganda, Ethiopia and India.
Twestival is organized 100% by volunteers and 100% of the money
raised goes directly to charity. This event, Twestival Local, supports
charities that each city selects and approves through the Twestival
global team. Twestial Phoenix Local will support St. Mary's Food Bank. St.
Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, the world’s first food bank,
is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that alleviates hunger by
efficiently gathering and distributing food to sites that serve the hungry.
By purchasing a ticket to Twestival Phoenix, you are making a
donation to St. Mary's Food Bank. Each ticket donation is treated the
same. What you decide to contribute is completely up to you.
Our goal as a city is to raise $7,000.
In addition to entry into the event, we are offering raffle tickets
which will be entered into a drawing for prizes that have been
donated. You can purchase as many raffle tickets as you wish.
We will be providing all guests with a drink ticket and appetizers
throughout the night. Additional food and drink are available for purchase.
100% of the proceeds from these sales will go to St. Mary's Food Bank
to help alleviate hunger in Arizona.
