Event Description:
For decades, the styles from top designers gracing the runways and
red carpets alike, eventually lead to many of the the trends found in
stores for each upcoming season. While this model is still in place,
real time information and media sharing is changing the ways we
celebrate and experience fashion. Designers/brands share stories and
information online hoping to form stronger relationships with their
customers. Bloggers break "it" styles from the
streets/runways establishing themselves as real-time broadcasters
often worthy of mainstream coverage. Marketers and retailers adapt to
shifts in consumer shopping habits by reshaping new ways for apparel
and accessories are marketed and sold. It’s clear that social
media has become a huge part of the overall fashion conversation.
The Future of Fashion will examine the latest trends in social
media and the impact of real-time digital marketing. We'll
analyze the short and long term impact of these trends on the fashion
industry. From blogging to broadcasting, how will social influence
shape the bottom line for all of the players involved?
