Over the last three years, Sandbox has developed into the foremost community for young innovators from around the world. Together, Sandboxers have the potential to change the world for the better.

For the first time in Sandbox history, Sandboxers are coming together from all over the world to one single location. Our inaugural Global Summit will be a true bonding experience, a place where ideas are born and collaborations are forged. A place where the world’s most inspiring changemakers shape the world of tomorrow.

Conferences are dead, long live the sandbox

The Global Summit is not just about ideas and inspiration: we are getting down to business and doing actual work together that solves concrete issues for the participants.

And it will have a lasting impact beyond the three days: together, we will create a guidebook to innovation, capturing the knowledge and experience of all participants.

Who will be there?

A group of outstanding Sandboxers is going to Lisbon from the US, Europe, South America, Asia and Africa. They will be joined by a few carefully selected senior leaders and guests. Learn more here about some of the first members who already confirmed their participation.

When is the Global Summit?

The Summit will be held over three days in January 2012. Sandboxers who can stay longer are invited to join us for a two-day retreat to discover Portugal in a more intimate setting.

Book a flight arriving in Lisbon no later than Friday at noon and leaving on Monday morning - or on Wednesday morning if you can stay for the post-Summit retreat.

Where will it take place?

The Summit will take place in Lisbon, at the Museum of Design and Fashion. Participants who can stay after the Summit will join us for a two-day retreat in Portugal. We’ll move away from Lisbon to go to Sintra, a Unesco World Heritage site with bizarre and beautiful palaces full of mystery.
