Maximising global prebiotic and probiotic business and science
Probiota 2014 will explore the prebiotic-probiotic scientific frontier, its evolution and commercial application in food, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics across the globe.
The global prebiotic and probiotic markets are changing rapidly and we are changing too - we even have a new name - Probiota - to reflect the meshing of Probiotech and Microbiota we began at the 2013 event. We´re also moving from Brussels to Amsterdam for the 2014 conference.
Key points of the conference:
The latest scientific and technical, and market insights from world renowned experts: Top experts, all in one place - whether you are interested in infant nutrition or cosmetics, metagenomics or marketing, we have expert presentations designed with you in mind.
Bridging the business-science gap: Coming together helps everybody to maximise potential and reach our goals. The Probiota 2014 program brings top level insights and networking opportunities for business and academia, and encourages conversations that might never happen anywhere else!
A truly global outlook: Science and business have no boundaries, so why should a conference? Our expert presentations offer insights and lessons from emerging and established markets, in addition to looking for business and science lessons from other areas of food and nutrition.
The 2014 programme will see a significant evolution on 2013 with a broader, multi-sector business focus, a refined science programme and greater global reach.
The 2-day, 2-stream agenda remains but we have simplified it to make the Probiotech stream about commercial opportunity and Microbiota about only the most cutting edge, multi-sectorial science.
New or expanded features include:
More big (and small) brands
Truly global focus
Cutting edge scientific poster sessions
Pre- and probiotic packaging, formulation and marketing (from ‘inside to outside’)
More pharma and food supplement players
Consumer behaviour insights
Lessons from other sectors

Probiota Networking Reception
After the conference proceedings on day 1, delegates are invited to join the informal evening networking reception at the Tobacco Theater. The Tobacco Theater is an old tobacco auction house in the centre of Amsterdam. The building functioned as a tobacco trading house until around 1900, and was re-opened as a function venue in 2011 after extensive renovation.
Our reception will take place on the old tobacco trading floor and you will be able to explore the fascinating history of the building whilst enjoying the opportunity to network with your fellow attendees over a glass of wine and specially prepared walking buffet.
