Peter Gabriel

Gabriel’s first came to international prominence with the success of Genesis, a band that he co-founded while still at school. Since leaving Genesis in 1975, his recording career has included seven studio albums. His latest album, ‘Scratch My Back’, will be released on February 15th, 2010, to coincide with this latest release, Mark Butler Associates is delighted to offer you and your guests the unique opportunity to see Peter Gabriel at The O2 Arena in London on Saturday 27th March, 2010.

The album is the first part of a series of song exchanges in which Gabriel and other leading artists reinterpret each others songs. The first half of the concert will be songs from Peters new album ‘Scratch My Back’ the second half will feature some old favourites, where he will be accompanied by a full orchestra.

To help craft his recording of the album’s eclectic array of cult favourites and classic tracks, Gabriel enlisted former Durutti Column member John Metcalfe composer, arranger and the expertise of producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’, Lou Reed’s ‘Berlin’), and engineer, mixer and producer Tchad Blake (Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow, Tom Waits).

“There is as much magic in the sounds of things as there is in the notes,” says Gabriel. “The studio can be the most boring place in the world, but when there’s magic - when you open up a new vein - you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
