    Speakers: Michael Fragos, Chief winemaker at Chapel Hill, McLaren Vale   and  Steve Flamsteed, winemak er at Giants Steps/ Innocent Bystander, Yarra Valley            

    Australia has some of the oldest vines in the world and by contrast, some of the newest, freshest approaches to winemaking. This winemaker-led tasting will offer the chance of a glimpse into the archives of aged Aussie Shiraz made from vines that are over 100 years old. At the other end of the spectrum there will be New Releases of fine aromatic white wines.

    Speaker: Sue Chambers from Wine = Friends

    The New York Wine & Grape Foundation present a tour of the Long Island wine region. Extending some 120 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, its maritime climate, geography and soil characteristics provide ideal conditions for producing wines of exceptional quality. Sue Chambers of Wine = Friends will introduce five, fresh, lively wines which represent the diversity and quality found in New York State wines.

    14:30   Chenin Blanc Discovery Theatre   £15

    Speaker: Ken Forrester

    Enter the fascinating world of South African Chenin Blanc and learn how this versatile wine takes its rightful place with the other great white wines of the world. Ken Forrester, will demonstrate how Chenin Blanc is to South Africa what Sauvignon Blanc is to New Zealand by showing a range of styles and sweet wines from different regions.

     

    16:00   Wines of Brazil Discovery Theatre   £15

    Speaker:  Charles Metcalfe

    Discover South America’s best kept secret. Taste an exciting range of wines from Brazil’s most celebrated producers. You will be introduced to Brazil’s most diverse wine regions and grape varieties with a multiplicity of very different terroirs altitudes and soil characteristics. The tasting will feature two sparkling wines and four red wines.
