Topic: Location based services
Location-based services have been identified as one of those
aspects of context that will fill the coffers of telcos and
application developers alike. A killer-application in its own right.
Those who made such predictions and acted upon them paid dearly in the
first mobile-data wave (WAP 1.0). However, possibly since the launch
of the iPhone's ability to offer location awareness, the posibilities
have changed from being mere ideas to real value-added applications
for which many are even prepared to pay premium. In many markets,
location-aware applications are some of the most frequently used and
downloaded ones.
In this event we plan to have guest speakers share their
experiences, innovations and suggestions for the months ahead in what
continues to be a rapidly evolving marketspace.
Format: After a few presentations, a round
table will be organized on most relevant topics to be addressed.
