As part of the media140 Brisbane conference, ABC Science and media140 present a free public forum hosted by Bernie Hobbs from ABC TV's New Inventors

Everyone is welcome. Come along and have your say.

    • Why do we love to tell everyone what we think? What's with the urge to rant and hit Send?
    • Do you post comments after the online articles? Call talkback shows? Blog about your ideas? Tweet your opinion?
    • Perhaps you're a 'lurker', listening to, reading and following others who have their say in social media? How does it enhance your experience of what is going on in the world?
    • Do we change our opinions when we see what others in the audience think? Do you trust the 'experts' who write the columns more than the audience who 'Have Their Say'?

Come along and hear what our panel of journos and scientists have to say, ask them your own questions and tell them what you think. All welcome.

    Featuring:

        Natasha Mitchell
from ABC's All in the Mind (Radio National): Natasha knows about how our minds work, science, communicating with an audience

        Rod Lamberts
from the Australian National University: Rod knows about psychology, communication, especially communicating science

        Bernie Hobbs
ABC TV's New Inventors judge, science broadcaster: Bernie knows about science, the environment, communicating with an audience

    Andrew Gregson
Founded media140 in May 2009, as Europe's first 'real-time' web conference. The organisation was originally created as an initiative to raise money to race the 25th Marathon des Sables, which Andrew ran in April 2010.

He now spends most of his time directing media140 and training for ridiculous Ultra marathons.

No bookings, no tickets, no seats held, sorry. Just arrive early for best seats and a warm-up drink, meet the panel, check out the audience!

    Session starts 6.30pm
