From around the world Cities, Companies and Experts will engage in a day of networking to use innovations to turn challenges into opportunities.

Three areas of services in cities will be prioritised at this Summit, allowing cities and companies to build partnerships, share experiences, build a common understanding of future trends and the growing demand for innovative business models.
A. Smart Urban Lighting
Eindhoven is part of a group of global cities spearheading smart urban lighting solutions to reach sustainability goals, create cultural and social reference points and explore new product and design opportunities through using the latest in LED and sensor technologies. International cities together with small and large solution providers will exchange experiences, challenges, and new approaches to urban lighting in this networking session.
B. E-health and Smart Living
New technologies enable us to deliver health services from diagnosis to treatment and assisted living in entirely new ways in our cities, that may change the way we conceive social and health services, but also think in entirely new ways about delivery and business models. Cities and providers will present their latest challenges and achievements and open the debate on defining the role and leadership of cities in adopting new health technologies.
C. Wellbeing in Cities and the role of business innovation, new financing and social entrepreneurship
Cities are presenting new challenges in dealing with diseases and social incidents that affect quality of life and life expectancies of their citizens, as well as their ability to secure service provision within tightening budgets. Conditions such as diabetes, pollution, cardio-vascular diseases, substance abuse, obesity, isolation and other crises in cities are preventable, yet intelligent and integrated policies are only just emerging that combine latest insights, leadership and new technologies.
New methods are being deployed to measure the conditions and the impact of different actions such as active and inclusive design, new mobility concepts, 0-100 playgrounds, changing food habits, accessibility and similar practices in cities. Business innovation and social entrepreneurs are already meeting these challenges with new products, approaches and solutions. New types of social financing and investments will be required to allow such entrepreneurship to flourish and reach our development goals.
This session will bring together city leaders with clear challenges, social entrepreneurs, business leaders, and organisations that can provide financing to ventures with a high proven impact towards our development goals.
Executive Training Programme
Prior to the summit, from 21 November- 23 November 2011, there will be also the possibility to participate in the executive training programme 'Creating the Well Connected City' in Eindhoven, facilitated by Design London and Living Labs Global. It will be a three day executive level workshop to help service providers, city leaders and agencies build the next generation of digitally enabled public services.
