  • General Terms and Conditions

This course will be limited to 250 participants. Applications will be accepted on a ‘first-paid, first-served’ basis. You will receive acceptance and confirmation by e-mail.

In the eventuality that the IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis cannot be held or will have to be changed due to events beyond the control of the IOF (force majeure including, without limitation, natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism or any acts or omissions of third parties) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence of the IOF, the IOF cannot be held liable by participants for any damages or costs or loss incurred, such as transportation costs, hotel or accommodation costs, financial loss, etc.

Under these circumstances, the IOF reserves the right to either hold the entire registration fee and to use it for a future IOF Event, or to reimburse the registration fee after the deduction of the costs already incurred for the organisation of the IOF Training Course and which could not be recovered from third parties.

The IOF reserves the right to modify the programme, unilaterally and without notice.

The IOF is not responsible for any bodily or material damage sustained by participants during the IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis, which is not directly the fault of the IOF. Each participant is responsible for his or her own insurance for such events.

Any litigation stemming from the above contract will be tried in Nyon, Switzerland where the Swiss law is exclusively applicable.

  • Visa and Letter of Attestation request

Participants are strongly advised to make sure they fulfil all legal requirements to enter Switzerland (and Schengen Area). Besides a valid passport, an entry visa may also be required. Please visit the official website of the Swiss Government http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/reps/eur/vbel/ref_visinf/visbel.html to find out whether, depending on your citizenship, country of long-term residence, and the duration and reasons for your stay, you need a visa to enter Switzerland.

It is highly recommended to start the process a minimum of 2 ½ months prior to your arrival in Switzerland. Please contact your nearest Swiss or European Country part of the Schengen Agreement consulate or embassy in your country of residence for further information.

Attestation letters to assist in visa formalities are designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries. It must be understood that such letters do not imply any financial support or hosting arrangement from IOF, nor a guarantee of a visa being issued. The attestation letter to assist in visa formalities will only be sent on request and only to participants who have paid their registration fees in full.
