Event Description:
Explore the outcomes of deeply integrated social media into museum
exhibitions and programming. In this moderated panel discussion, three
of New York's most prominent arts institutions offer behind-the-scenes
insight into the opportunities and challenges of moving the museum
into the social medium. Representatives from the Guggenheim Museum,
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and the Whitney Museum discuss the social
strategies of YouTube Play. A Biennial of Creative Video, Marina
Abramovic: The Artist is Present, the 2010 Whitney Biennial, and more,
plus best practices for social success with limited staff and resources.
