BBC as technical co-ordinator of the Public Space at BBC
Birmingham, where he designed and built large scale interactive
exhibits , permanent and
themed interactive displays and film – by originating
ideas and producing or commissioning material in a variety
of media.
David Burden: “How Virtual Worlds
can help Businesses Succeed”
David is the MD of Daden
limited, he has been involved in virtual worlds since the
mid 1990s, having created early spaces using VRML and played
in several early 3D communal worlds. David's first virtual
home was at Retsmah Crossing in Albecompha World and he
spent much of the early naughties hoverboarding off the
slopes of Nene's Peak - the giant volcano in there. David
has been in Second Life since 2004 where his real-life and
SL business Daden Limited helps businesses and organisations
explore the social and commercial potential of virtual
worlds. David also has a keen interest in artificial
intelligence and Daden have an AI platform for use both in
SL and on the web. He has also written a best selling
science-fiction RPG adventure book!
Gareth Edwards

Your Social Media"
Gareth is
the eMarketing Specialist at The National B2B Centre, will
be helping attendees to "Supercharge Their
Social Media". Gareth will be highlighting
the lessons learned from the B2B Centre's use of tools
such as LinkedIn and Twitter to build its membership,
create new communications channels and develop an
active members' community. He will also call on
his experience of providing practical eMarketing
advice to small businesses to show examples of how
companies have used tools and technologies
(for instance blogs and Facebook) to achieve success.
The B2B Centre provides impartial advice and support
on the adoption and use of eBusiness to West Midlands
SMEs. Gareth has worked in a number of
very large and not-so-large companies in a variety of
roles. He has been with the B2B Centre for over
3 years and provides marketing/eMarketing
capability to the Centre as well as working with clients.
