Available in full day or evening sessions, our courses
cover the wide range of academic disciplines that make wine such a
captivating and fascinating learning subject to explore and learn
about, from the history of the wine world’s iconic regions, to
geographic and geological variations, the biology of viticulture and
the chemistry of vinification, the politics of classifications, and
the philosophical concept of terroir.
COURSE OUTLINE
■ On a region by
region basis, discover when and why each wine became so important,
learn about a climate’s influence over it’s region’s
wines, find out how terroirs differ across communes and appellations,
discover the key grape varieties and find out once and for all which
truly are the greatest vintages in the wine world.
■ Ever wondered
what happens in the cellars of the greatest wine names? Our team
of expert tutors can relay first hand the behind the scenes happenings
in the some of world’s oldest and most prestigious wineries as
well naming the up-and-coming winemakers to look out for.
■ Taste your way
through each course with carefully chosen examples of the
region’s most expressive and sought-after wines, spotting
vintage variations and winemaking styles whilst learning how each
region’s local gastronomic traditions can be shared and
recreated through tried and tested food and wine matching.
■ From
assemblage to TCA, through green harvesting and carbonic maceration,
find out everything you wanted to know about the key regions of the
wine world from the acclaimed world experts in the field.
