In collaboration with Thinking
Digital we have been able to secure the world famous Dan Pink to
talk at our next Think and a Drink in January.
Dan was last in Tyneside in May
2008 where he was the closing keynote speaker for the inaugural
Thinking Digital Conference. He returned to the UK in July 2009
where he gave one of the star talks of the inaugural TEDGlobal
Conference in Oxford. You can see his TEDTalk at..

.
Dan is the author of several
provocative, bestselling books about the changing world of work.
He’s touring the UK for a few days to speak about his new
book, DRIVE: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us. In his
new book, Dan exposes the mismatch between what science knows and
what business does in terms of motivating people and how that
affects every aspect of life.
To speak alongside Dan we also
have Caspar Berry talking about ‘why we do what we do’.
Having started his career in children's BBC series Byker Grove ,
Caspar later became a screenwriter, writing for Mirimax and Columbia
Tri Star. Then, aged 25, he took a risk that would change his life.
He moved to Las Vegas and took up poker full time, making a good
living against the game's best-known players, before returning to
the UK and setting up a successful media company. Today, he draws on
these experiences to advise companies on the value of taking
calculated risks. Sometimes it's right to be wrong.
We’re honoured that Dan and
Caspar have chosen to speak in Newcastle Gateshead. And naturally,
with a world class speakers we have procured a world class venue,
The Sage Gateshead . The event will be in the Northern Rock
Foundation Hall on the 26th January with registration commencing at
5pm and event starting at 6pm.
