Since launching its first sites in February 2009, AOL's Patch has
grown to cover nearly 800 towns and neighborhoods in 18 states.
Learn how Patch has given local journalists a dynamic platform for
local news, faced the challenges of quick growth, and used social
media to help reach their target audience.

Brian Farnham is the Editor-in-Chief of Patch.com, a
community-specific news and information platform in nearly 800 towns
and neighborhoods across the U.S. Patch provides comprehensive and
trusted original content created by its full-time professional
journalists, as well as user-contributed events, announcements and discussions.
Moderator: Tonya Garcia, Editor, PRNewser, and Manager, PR Initiatives
Tonya Garcia joined Mediabistro in August 2010 as editor of
PRNewser. Most recently, Tonya was a member of the media team at the
PR firm MS&L. Prior to that, she spent three years as a reporter
with PRWeek . She's also written about other things in places
like Fast Company , Essence.com and the New York Press .
Tonya's been a member of the same book club for more than a decade,
she has a master's degree in journalism from NYU, and she's from
Brooklyn but (unfortunately) doesn't have the accent.
