DESCRIPTION:Participants will learn how to make from scratch simple handm
 ade notebooks\, \nusing basic methods and a variety of materials. We wil
 l also explore the \npossibilities for using these simple methods to mak
 e ‘artists books’ an \nartform which is becoming more popular. Participa
 nts will learn how to \nstitch pages together to make a notebook with a 
 cover\, as well as \nalternative types of ‘book’ and decorative methods 
 will also be explored. \nParticipants will learn techniques they can use
  at home and will receive a \nworksheet with instructions to take away w
 ith them.\nAll materials for producing the books and learning the techni
 ques will be \nprovided\, as well as worksheets. Participants will be en
 couraged to use \nfound and recycled material so you might want to start
  collecting! For the \nartists book you might want to select a short poe
 m or use your sketchbook \nideas. We would recommend also that participa
 nts bring with them a plain \npage notebook to keep ideas and personal n
 otes. Suitable clothing should be \nworn\; latex gloves will be provided
