Jazz & Blues Guitar - The course is suitable for intermediate
guitarists willing to improve their musical skills, looking for
inspiration and good fun. The course is unique as it focuses on
musical as opposed to technical abilities. Learn tricks of the trade
and practical tips - you won't learn it at school, you won't read it
in the books.
The topics include:
Ear training
Transcribing songs
Playing what you hear
Improvisation in blues and jazz contexts
Rhythm, timing, groove
Analysing music of the greats
Useful and useless music theory
Developing creativity
Equipment: The participants should bring their own instruments
(electric or acoustic guitars), guitar cables and optionally practice amps.
Tutor Biography
Jarek Dobrzanski
Blues & Jazz musician and teacher, session musician,
composer; Jarek is the founder of one of today’s biggest Polish
blues-rock groups SCIGANI, and a columnist with the Polish edition of
Total Guitar magazine.
