Top-class
international handball action is returning to Liverpool in
September, with Great Britain Women hosting a Four Nations
Tournament at the Echo Arena from 23-25 September 2010.
Supported by
GB will
take on Italy, Portugal and Switzerland in the event, and it will be
a happy homecoming for the squad who beat Finland at the Arena to
secure their place in the 2010 European Championship qualification round.
Two
matches each day will ensure there is always something to
watch, but GB will be hoping to take victory in the event having
already beaten Portugal this year.
“It’s another fantastic
opportunity to play in Liverpool where we had such a great reception
last time, and for us to show once again the progress we’ve
made since last time we were there,” said team manager Mel Chowns.
“As
we progress towards 2012, these teams will present us with a
realistic challenge and help us gauge where we are at.”
