Twestival is a globally held event brought together by the twitter
community to raise money for charity. Last event raised over $250,000
for Charity Water. Making it possible to drill approximately 17 wells
in 3rd world countries.
This event is considered “local”. Each city has chosen a
charity of their choice. San Francisco has chosen OperationSmile.org a foundation that raises money
for children with cleft lips. It is approximately $250-$500 per operation.
San Francisco’s goal is to raise enough money for 140 Smiles
through 140 characters at a time. Which you can read at 140smiles.org.
