This
year, Twestival goes Local and, here in London, we're delighted to
announce that Centrepoint has been selected as our
beneficiary charity. Twestival London is organised by volunteers and
100% of the money raised from ticket sales will go direct to Centrepoint.
Centrepoint believes that we should live in a society
where all young people realise their potential. They work
with young people who often have little sense of self-worth
or self-respect; they help them to tackle the underlying
issues behind their homelessness and focus on the positive
aspects of their lives.
In 2006-07, at least 75,000
young people experienced homelessness in the UK. The first
UK-wide study of youth homelessness for a
decade found that youth homelessness remains a major problem in
society today. Centrepoint works to support those young people who
are on a downward spiral, to give them a chance to turn their
lives around and build a more fulfilling future.

This year, Twestival London will be held at the Cape, a
terrific venue located on the corner of Wood Street and Love
Lane in the City of London (EC2V 7JQ), within easy walking
distance of Bank, Moorgate, St Paul's and Liverpool Street
stations. We're currently putting together a terrific
line-up of bands and entertainment.
