Twestival
is a globally held event brought together by the twitter community,
locally and globally, to raise money for charity. The last event
raised over $250,000 for Charity Water worldwide, which made it
possible to drill approximately 17 wells, in 3rd world countries.
This
being a local event, each participating city aroudn the world has
chosen a charity of their choice to support. We have chosen to
support: SVCF The Silicon Valley Children's Fund, helping Foster Youth
attend college via the YES scholarships. www.svcf.org We are trying to
help raise enough money for one scholarship of $2500.00. Please help
us achieve this worthwhile goal of helping a student attend college
for one year.
The Silicon Valley Children’s Fund invests in the development
and expansion of high impact programs and practices that improve
educational and life outcomes for foster youth in the Silicon Valley
and beyond.
The Children’s Fund collaborates with educational
institutions, community-based organizations, and public agencies to
build their institutional capacity and deliver services that
transform our youth into successful and self-sustaining adults.
The Silicon Valley Children’s Fund is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation.
