DESCRIPTION:The YWCA is “dedicated to eliminating racism\, empowering wom
 en\, and \npromoting peace\, justice\, freedom and dignity for all.” Acc
 ording to Kelly \nAshworth\, Development and Marketing Assistant\, the Y
 WCA helps over 1\,000 \nwomen and children in Rochester each year throug
 h their housing and young \nparent support services\, which help to ensu
 re that women and their families \nhave a safe and supportive place to l
 ive\, as well as the education and \ndirection necessary for a successfu
 l future.\nOne of the strict requirements from Twestival HQ this year wa
 s that the \nreceiving charity demonstrate an actual project or specific
  need for the \nprojected funds\, and the YWCA has a great one. The gold
 en number is $6\,500. \nAnd that will provide homeless women and childre
 n in our community with 200 \ncourtesy nights in the YWCA’s Emergency Ho
 using program. The program \nprovides safe and reliable housing for over
  300 homeless women and children \nin the community each year and also o
 ffers support services to help women \nfind safe and affordable long-ter
