Support from
private donors is a critical source of funding for Concern’s
lifesaving programs in 28 of the world’s poorest countries.
Such donations not
only allow us
to maintain our independence, but also enable us to respond rapidly
and efficiently in emergencies, and provide communities with longterm,
sustainable
solutions to poverty.
The following
examples demonstrate the ways in which your support can help make a
tangible difference in the lives of the poorest.
A gift of
$30
can give 15
children the opportunity to attend school in Haiti.
A gift of
$45
can help a
community produce sustaining crops by providing them with seedlings
to grow 15 trees.
A gift of
$50
can enable
Concern to buy enough chlorine solution to ensure that 3,000 people
have safe drinking water for one month.
A gift of
$91
can help send
a child to school for a year – including the cost of a
mandatory uniform, a pair of shoes, a school bag and lunch.
A gift of
$100
can help
train 10 healthcare workers to deliver vaccinations to children in
poor communities.
A gift of
$180
can help
Concern build a latrine that will facilitate 20 families with an
average of 5 members each.
A gift of
$250
can provide
training to 500 village members on the day-to-day treatment of
drinking water.
A gift of
$500
can provide
vaccinations against the most common deadly diseases: malaria,
pneumonia and respiratory diseases, preventing
children from
suffering needlessly.
A gift of
$3,000
can build a
community cistern supplying enough water to 150 families
A gift of
$5000
could cover
the cost of running a farm that grows mosquito-repellent plants for
one year. Such plants naturally repel mosquitoes,
and
when planted in refugee and IDP camps and near water source, they
help ward off mosquitoes, helping reduce the spread of malaria.
