    TalkTalk is holding its first blogger event created specifically for food bloggers on Thursday September 15 2011.

    Tech n Taste is a unique evening of networking, learning and tasting, designed to offer helpful insight and advice on how to make the best of your blog but also offer food experiences and tastings.

    Our speakers will cover topics such as search engine optimisation (SEO), security and safety, monetising your blog and even photography. We also have a very special guest slot from renowned chef Jesse Dunford Wood.
     
    The event will feature a series of interactive workshops and discussions and there will be a number of food stalls where you can taste and review products.

    The event is FREE for everyone to attend, but places are limited so will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

    16:00 - 16:15 - Arrival, welcome drinks, tea & coffee

    16:15 – 16:30 – Introductions

    16:30 – 17:00 – Celebrity chef cooking social media

    • Jesse Dunford Wood (@dunfordwood) is an award winning Brazilian-born English chef currently at The Mall Tavern in London's Notting Hill. He's considered an expert in modern British food. Jesse is a winner of this year's Tatler Rising Star Chef award. He also won Time Out’s 2007 Best British Restaurant Award for the National Dining Rooms.

    17:00 – 17:30 – So, how do people find my blog?

    • Lee Smallwood (@leesmallwood) works for some of Britain’s top brands as a digital consultant and viral marketer and he’ll be on hand to lead our afternoon discussion about SEO. The focus will be on simple strategies that will help new visitors to find your blog, with the minimum of fuss. We will also be discussing what tools and widgets you find work best to reach out to new readers and increase your blog audience.

    17:30 – 17:45 – Keeping your homes safe

    • TalkTalk’s Matt Bird will provide practical tips and advice on internet safety, for bloggers and their homes (HomeSafe).

    17:45 – 18:30 – Discussion and breakout session (teas and coffees)

    • This is going to be your chance to visit our food stalls and try & taste some of the lovely food samples.

    18:30 – 19:00 – A blog that bangs 

    • Elisabeth Winkler (@ewinkler) is a print journalist and editor turned keen blogger of the award-winning blog Real Food Lover (shortlisted for the Guild of Food Writers 2009 New Media awards) and Writing on the Web who has some great blogging tips right up her sleeve. Elisabeth will be talking about what are the dos and don’ts when it comes to blogging – i.e. what is the best blogging platform to use, how to choose the right angle when writing, what to blog about, how to build your blog audience, etc. She will also give you tips on how to make money from blogging.

    19:00 – 19:30 – Close up on Photography

    • Giles Phelps (@gilesphelps) is one half of the Heavyweight Creative Partnership known as ChrisandGiles.com & Founder of TommySpirit.com the self confessed food photo 'bomber' with his own Tumblr. Giles will give a creative & practical slideshow for getting the very best out of very little with photography on your blog. He'll demonstrate how to use cheap apps, web tools & tricks to get results *almost* as good as the professional work he has done with: Waitrose, Innocent & Jordans Cereals. 

    19:30 – 20:30 – Wrap up & Food Stalls

    • Last chance for you to grab a drink, chat to other guests and visit our food stalls to try and taste some of the lovely food samples.
