This is a fantastic opportunity to meet other new students in an informal environment whilst enjoying the English cultural tradition of a cream tea.
Cream tea is a meal traditionally taken in the afternoon; it includes scones (a cross between bread and cake), jam, cream and a cup of tea. Entry to this event is free. Cream teas can be purchased for a charge of £3.50 at the event.
Lower Rio's is located in Shackleton Hall, the venue overlooks the lawns and lake in the Vale student village, and if it is sunny the doors will be opened so that attendees may sit outside on the lawn.
Shackleton Hall is a 20 minute walk from the main Edgbaston Campus.
You are welcome to attend more than one cream tea event, but please make sure you register for each date you plan to attend. Each event is scheduled to last from 15:00 until 17:00. Please bring a print out of your booking confirmation when you attend.
If you have any questions about cream tea socials please email internationalwelcome@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
