Russian Speaking Professionals in The Netherlands is
proud to introduce our first Discussion Club meeting entitled
“The Best Way to Find Yourself in the Netherlands”
will be held in
The Hague on
Friday March 5 2010. Everyone can prepare a brief introduction
or tell us a short story about your experience in
"surviving in the Netherlands". Please prepare
interesting, challenging, funny stories, one story if enough.
Alexander Fain and Irina Kremin will be leading the first
meeting, next time it can be YOU!
The rules of the club is that after
listening to a short introduction from the guest speakers, we will
give an opportunity to everyone to present their point of view on
the subject. The length of each presentation has a limit of 5 min
(we will be timing!). Whether you have an experience with
public presentation or not, its a lot easier to prepare a five
minute talk than a long talk. For our club Talk, you don't need to
make slides, and if you do decide to make slides, you only need to
make maximum 5. And if you are nervous, no worry, the painful
part will be over quickly. Maybe you don't have much to say.
Maybe you just want to ask a question, or invite people to help you
with your project, or boast about something you did, or tell a short
cautionary story.
During the meeting we will have a
social part where we will be offering drinks and snacks (sandwiches,
and finger food) . Location is sponsored by Russian Cultural Centre
Amsterdam. Cost for catering is 12.00 Euros per person if registered
online, and 15.00 Euros per person if registered at the door,
reservation is compulsory, places are limited to 60.
Please post a message below on the
Wall if you like to arrange/offer carpooling.
If you are worry about how you can
squeeze a whole talk into five minutes, dont! The point is that
because the talk is only five minutes long, you don't have to take
it so seriously. Just try to say something brief and interesting,
and then if people want to follow up or ask questions, they will
catch you in the break afterwards.
Our meetings are held in Russian.
For carpooling from Amsterdam, Utrecht or any other location please place an announcement here.
