The content of the workshops will include improvisation,
devising, movement, forum theatre, mask-work, dance, voice and
much more. The workshop aims to: * offer
experience and training in all aspects of theatre. *
ensure the personal and social development of all its
members * enhance communication, confidence and team
work skills * attain a high artistic standard in public
performances * create work that is relevant to the lives of
young people today * instil an appreciation of the
creative and performing arts in all its members At the
end of course participants will participate in a public
performance.
Tutor Biography
Aoife Connolly is a actress,
director and drama teacher with over ten years experience. She
has trained in Viewpoints and Suzuki with internationally
renowned Theatre Director Anne Bogart and SITI Company in New
York. As Artistic Director of Bluepatch Productions her
recent directing and producing credits include The Clean House
by Sarah Ruhl (The New Theatre), Medea Redux by Neil LaBute
(Bodytonicmusic's Bernard Shaw and Galway Theatre Festival) and
Portia Coughlan by Marina Carr (The New Theatre). Acting
credits include Medea Redux and Fear an Phoist Series 1 and 2.
Aoife has a Masters Degree in
Theatre Directing, a Higher Diploma in Drama and
Performance Studies (UCD).and a Diploma in Speech and Drama from
D.I.T. Conservatory of Music and Drama. She is a licensed
Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
