IGNITE is an event format pioneered by geek publishers O'Reilly and is now present in over 100 cities around the world. Ignite presenters share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just five minutes.
The very first Newcastle Ignite took place in February 2011 at the Centre for Life and was a huge hit. A dozen speakers gave great 'lightning' talks and Oli Wood's breakneck tour of the thousands of bookmarks he's collected over the years earned him the night's prize as our top Ignite speaker.
For Newcastle Ignite 2 we're moving to Martha's Bar and the Vermont Hotel near the Quayside. As per all of our Codeworks Connect Think and a Drink events, there will be networking with food and drinks. The programme for the evening including speakers and their chosen topics for the lightning talks is set out below.
