DESCRIPTION:This is a beginner’s introductory course to making a traditio
 nal \nmarionette. Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts 
 of \ndesigning and making a stringed puppet using a variety of craft and
  found \nmaterials\, you will learn the technique of making the marionet
 te\, ‘sculpt’ \nthe head\, and explore ways to express puppet personalit
 y and character in \nthe design and making of ‘facial’ features and cost
 ume. Using traditional \nand modern techniques\, methods\, materials - a
 nd a lot of imagination.\nAll basic & essential materials and equipment 
 will be provided on the \ncourse\, however participants should also star
 t to collect any interesting \nfound materials that they might like to i
 ncorporate. During the course \nparticipants may be asked to source ‘fou
 nd’ materials. While the workshop \nwill allow ample time to complete th
 e project\, you may like to do some \nfurther work on your project at ho
 me as well\, we would recommend also that \nparticipants bring with them
  a plain page notebook to keep ideas and \npersonal notes. Suitable clot
 hing should be worn\; latex gloves will be \nprovided as required.\n====
