Twestival is an
international organization connecting Twitter users to
support a common cause and bringing them together for an offline
fundraising event. It truly helps put the "social"
context in to social media. Make sure to visit the main Twestival site to
see Lawrence on the World map.
For
the Twestival Local each participating city designates a local
charity who receives 100% of the funds raised. For the
Lawrence Twestival, the designated local charity is the Lawrence Humane Society. While this might
be a Twitter themed event, anyone is welcome to attend!
The
Lawrence Twestival takes place Thursday, September 10, at the recently
remodeled Jo
Shmo's in Downtown Lawrence. It's going to be a great night
of socializing, fun, music from the always popular @DJSoap,
chances to win some great door prizes, bid in the silent auction,
enjoy great drink specials and promo giveaways. And of course a chance
to support the Lawrence Humane Society. They receive 100% of ticket
sales and 100% of all funds raised.
