If you are interested in health and health care...
We would like to invite you to share your insight and expertise with colleagues from the education sector. Better education for the next generation can play a major role in putting a stop to the spread of chronic diseases and promoting healthier lifestyles, but only if it includes input from health experts like you. As educators craft their message, they need to understand the areas of greatest priority (the importance of engagement and informed decision making in health and health care, for instance, as well as specific issues such as tobacco, alcohol, sexual health) and include your ideas for creative solutions. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring your knowledge of what is needed to this important discussion. |
If you are interested in education...
We would like to invite you to share your outlook and experience with colleagues from the health and health care sector. Healthier children learn better and have better life chances – this is a vital issue if achievement gaps are to be closed. The next generation can achieve greater well-being and healthier lifestyles, but only if they understand and engage in taking care of their own health. Simply preaching health messages won’t do it – true education can. As healthcare providers seek ways to stop the spread of chronic diseases and encourage healthy behavior, they will need your expertise on how to reach individuals early through schools (with luck before they become patients), how to best deliver these sometimes unpopular messages, and what makes such lessons really “stick”. We urge you to take part and contribute your experience to the cause of a healthy and fulfilled future. |
In order to cultivate healthy lifestyles early in life, a multi-faceted collaboration between the education and health care sectors is essential. This session will bring together decision makers and practitioners from both of these and related sectors to explore best-practices and encourage collaboration for a well informed and healthy society. Please mark June 8-11 in your calendars and plan to join us at Chateau Klingenthal near Strasbourg, France for the occasion!
This event was made possible thanks to a generous donation by the Fondation Goethe
