The Break-Away Project is a new performance group based in Dublin, Ireland.
Our goal is to create opportunities for artists in various spectrums of the arts industry. We will provide a platform for artists to pool their skills together, enabling them to share their experiences and learn from each other's creative input.
Our first project in 2012 will be 'The Break-Away Readings', staged readings of plays by both up-and-coming and established playwrights.
These readings will be held every month in the Centre For Creative Practice, 15 Pembroke Street Lower, Dublin 2.
For the playwright, these readings will serve as a workshop for their material, giving them an insight into how it may progress and evolve.
For actors, designers and directors the readings will provide an opportunity to excercise their skills by being exposed to a variety of writing styles, as well as working with other theatre practitioners.
The Break-Away Project will be working on a number of other programs during the year, including short movies, concerts and full theatre productions.
