Howard University School of Communications 2011 Communications Job & Internship Fair Thursday, October 27, 2011 The Howard University Job & Internship Fair was established 36 years ago to serve as a forum for qualified applicants in communications to network and interview with representatives from nationally recognized communications organizations and graduate schools to help bring parity within the workforce. EXHIBIT BOOTHS: Exhibit booths are open for schools and companies that want to either: 1) recruit potential internship, job or graduate school candidates without pre-scheduled interviews; or 2) meet job fair applicants but may not have available jobs at the time but want to provide information about their company or graduate school. RECRUITMENT BOOTHS: Recruitment booths are reserved for graduate schools and companies that want to recruit potential internship, job or graduate school candidates with pre-scheduled interviews. PRE-SCHEDULED INTERVIEWS: Upon final processing of pre-registered job fair applicant resumes, recruiters requesting pre-scheduled interviews will be able to access resumes for applicants in their area of interest. You will review the resumes online, and notify us by email the potential candidates you wish us to schedule. Pre-scheduled interviews are twenty (20) minutes apart. You can request any length of time or start time for your interviews but keep in mind the normal course of the fair runs from 1:20pm and ends at 6:30pm. LUNCH: Lunch for recruiters/exhibiters will be held between 11:30am and 1:30pm. ABOUT THE APPLICANTS: Applicants to the Job Fair will consist of talented freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students from colleges and universities across the country as well as recent graduates and working professionals. Applicants will have experience and education in Advertising (agency/ad sales); Public Relations; TV & Film Production; Radio Production; Telecommunications Management; Sales; Organizational Communications, News Editorial, On-line Reporting; Finance and Accounting. Each will be quite eager to secure either internships, employment or graduate school opportunities from the vast network of recruiting representatives participating in the event.
