This is a beginner’s
introductory course exploring puppetry. You will make a variety of
different types of puppets, developing characterisation and using a
wide range of craft and found materials. Explore ways to express
puppets’ personality and character in the design, through
making ‘facial’ features, costumes, traditional/ modern
techniques, materials and a lot of imagination.
All basic & essential materials
and equipment will be provided on the course, however participants
should also start to collect any interesting found materials that
they might like to incorporate. During the course participants may
be asked to source ‘found’ materials. While the
workshop will allow ample time to complete the project, you may like
to do some further work on your project at home as well, we would
recommend also that participants bring with them a plain page
notebook to keep ideas and personal notes. Suitable clothing should
be worn; latex gloves will be provided as required.
