GREAT Britain women take
on Iceland on March 31 in the third of their 2010 European
Championship qualifying campaign matches.
The match, at Crystal Palace
National Sports Centre in London, is perhaps Great
Britain’s best chance of victory in a tough group which
also features world-class teams such as Austria and former
World Champions France.
After defeat to France in
their last match at Crystal Palace, GB will be out to clinch a
victory in front of their home crowd, which will no doubt
spark scenes of celebration like those seen in Liverpool when
GB beat Finland to qualify for the group stages of the Euro
2010 competition.
GB Head Coach Jesper Holmris
should be able to pick from a largely full-strength squad,
with high-scoring Britt Goodwin and Holly Lam-Moores (pictured
against Austria in their October qualifying match) likely to
be in the team again.
While the main GB v Iceland
clash begins at 7pm, pre-match entertainment begins at 4pm.
