    Washington DC Twestival

    September 10th - 7pm to 11pm

After the great success of the Washington Twestival and Twestivals around the globe, this wonderful event is now set to benefit our neighbors and the city of Washington DC. Twestival Local was announced last month as a mid-year Twestival around the globe that would benefit one local charity in each hosting city.  With the growth in popularity of Twitter, we hope to make this Twestival a larger success than anyone thought was possible.  By selecting DC's own Miriam's Kitchen we hope to prove that Social Media and Fundraising is a wonderful new avenue to benefit non-profits around the globe.

Please come out the night of September 10th to the new MidTown Loft to meet new people from the technology industry, media world, non-profit, government, and more.  You don't have to be on Twitter to attend, you just have to plan on having a good time.  Drink Specials and snacks will be available, and great music will carry you through to the end of the night.

Come out and support a great cause that benefits our great city.

    Who is

    Miriam's Kitchen

Miriam's Kitchen was founded in 1983 by a collaboration of The George Washington University Hillel Student Association, Western Presbyterian Church and United Church in response to an urgent need for services for the homeless in Washington, DC.

Their mission is to provide individualized services that address the causes and consequences of homelessness in an atmosphere of dignity and respect, both directly and through facilitating connections in Washington, DC.

They provide free, high-quality meals and support services to the homeless in our Nation's Capital every weekday morning through their core programs: Breakfast Program , Case Management Program and After-Breakfast Program . Additionally, we will be adding an Evening Program in 2010 to provide their guests with a healthy dinner and critical support services.
