The course is suitable for
intermediate and advanced guitarists willing to improve their
musical skills, looking for inspiration and good fun. The course is
unique as it focuses on musical as opposed to technical abilities.
Learn tricks of the trade and practical tips - you won't learn it at
school, you won't read it in the books. The topics include:
- Ear training - Transcribing
songs - Playing what you hear - Improvisation in blues and
jazz contexts - Rhythm, timing, groove - Analysing music of
the greats - Useful and useless music theory - Developing creativity
The participants should bring their
own instruments (electric or acoustic guitars), guitar cables and
optionally practice amps.
Tutor Biography
Jarek Dobrzanski, blues & jazz musician and
educator; founder of one of the today’s biggest Polish
blues-rock groups Scigani (myspace.com/scigani), columnist with
Polish edition of Total Guitar magazine.
