Sure the economy is kicking the crap out of us, so it seems especially important that we take time to celebrate the best tech accomplishments of the year and remember what went right in 2008.

The Crunchies, our sometimes kitschy and irreverent awards ceremony, is back for v2. Join GigaOm, VentureBeat and Silicon Alley Insider, and TechCrunch as co-hosts and masters in ceremonies on Friday January 9, 2009 at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco.

The Awards Ceremony will start at 7:30 pm at  the Herbst Theater.  (Open seating by section starts at 6:45 pm.)

The After Party will be across the street in the City Hall Rotunda from 9 pm - midnight.  Open bar and finger food served.  Celebrity DJ to be provided by MySpace.  Game room to be hosted in the North Light Court with a mix of online and traditional games.  Please contact  Jeanne Logozzo or Heather Harde if you'd like to help sponsor or showcase a game.
